Our fully customized Inventory Management Systems improves customer efficiency, by eliminating manpower, enabling volume purchasing and prevents manufacturing stoppages.
Arnold Supply is a one stop shop for supply chain management. We will take inventory, stock bins and replenish hardware and fasteners as needed as our customers need it. We’ll centralize inventory processing with purchasing departments, engineering staff and floor personnel to reduce costs and guarantee delivery.
How It Works:
Arnold Supply’s state-of-the-art VMI program utilizes the most up-to-date technology to take inventory of your hardware and fasteners.
When we begin a VMI program, we like to ask for a forecast report or annual usages so we can accurately price out the necessary quantities.
We then take that information and send you pricing and suggest a minimum and maximum bin quantity to go with each part.
Once the pricing, minimum and maximum quantities are approved, and a purchase order is sent to Arnold Supply, we will create custom bar codes. For example, the bar code to the right is for a customer who only wanted their part number, the bar code, and the maximum quantity needed for the particular bin.
A qualified Arnold Supply Salesman will arrive at your facility with an iPad, a wireless scanner and your customized bar codes to place on each bin.
Once the bar codes are all placed, the Arnold Supply Salesman will start counting bags, boxes or parts (However you prefer) and scan the bar codes on the bins that need to be re-stocked.
When the bar code is scanned, the following information is included (see image below).
- The product code is the Arnold Supply part number
- The Alternate code is the customer’s part number
- Location is where the part is located at your facility
- A brief description of the part
- The minimum and maximum quantities
- “Pkgs” are how many have been scanned in, which then totals up the amount of pieces in “total qty”
The PO Number shown above is generated by our computer system, but can also be changed to your PO number.
Once the ASI employee is done taking inventory, they will upload the order to our computer system. A packing list will be e-mailed to whomever it may concern. The packing list will include all parts to be brought in next time inventory is taken (See above).
